A trojan named Geinimi is by far the most sophisticated mechanism to collect personal data, because not only can act by itself, but also can be controlled remotely from the server. Geinimi camouflages it's presence by encrypting the data responsible for the operation of the program and the Java byte code obfuscation.
In addition to the address book, the Trojan is also able to read position data cell, the device ID (IMEI) number, SIM card (IMSI) and a list of installed applications. We do not know what is the goal of the developers Geinimi.
A Trojan is distributed as a supplement to the popular applications, mostly games, which can be found in the catalogs of software from external suppliers. The issue affects the following applications: Monkey Jump 2, Sex Positions, President Vs. Aliens, City Defense and Baseball Superstars 2010. Apparently, bearing the same name programs from the official Android Market are not infected.
